Wedding Venues in the South West of England

Image
Looking to get married in the South West of England ? Congratulations!   How lucky are you!?  The   South West is a beautiful part of the country. It's where superb venues and stunning scenery meet.  And we should know because we list SW venues in the Pink Wedding Days directory . The South West includes Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. On top of that it is home to 4 world heritage sites: the City of Bath, Cornwall and Devon Mining Landscape, The Jurassic Coast , and Stonehenge and Avebury.   It’s the collective home of some of Britain’s best-known food and drink: Cream teas, cider, pasties and cheese . It boasts two national parks (and a portion of the New Forest falls in its boundary, too). And it has the longest stretch of coastline in England. The South West boasts seven mainland railways, a good connection to the West Midlands and London via motorways and several airports....

Guernsey Passes Same-Sex Marriage Law

Image
Guernsey passed a same-sex marriage law this week. This is fantastic news for the resident LGBT community who have campaigned relentlessly for the right to marry. It’s hoped that the first same-sex weddings could take place around mid-2017 . The result isn’t too surprising; Guernsey’s 2015 preliminary vote passed without much concern and a survey of residents that same year found  that 90% were in favour of a new marriage law. Guernsey is the last of the British Crown Dependencies to pass same-sex marriage . Neighbouring Jersey did so earlier this year , and, further afield, so too did the Isle of Man. Crown dependencies are not part of the United Kingdom or Great Britain therefore, Guernsey was not required to follow England, Scotland and Wales for marriage equality in 2015. Northern Ireland is now the only place in the British Isles yet to legalise same-sex marriage
