Big Wedding Weekend at the South Bank Centre on August 27th

The South Bank Big Wedding Weekend is back for 2016!

Over 100 couples have been married since it began in 2014, and it’s easy to see why.

This is a unique opportunity to say your vows in a Grade I listed Central London venue

There aren’t many people who can say they’ve stood on the main stage at the Royal Festival Hall; there are fewer still who can say that they’ve been married on it.

The weekend will take place on Saturday, August 27th, 2016.

Couples can choose from a number of packages with room for personal touches, too.

What we love about The Big Wedding Weekend is that it takes away many of the time-consuming pressures of wedding planning: searching for a ceremony and reception space, shopping for flowers and décor to dress the room...

This isn’t a compromise, but a fantastic way to enjoy the build up to a wedding without the usual grey hair moments of fraught planning. And, speaking as an experienced wedding guest, I'd be thrilled to receive an invitation for such a unique day.

All couples will benefit from the attention and experience of a wedding planning.

Saturday, August 27th, 2016 at the Royal Festival Hall.

Couples can choose from 2 packages:

Package 1 – £2450

  • A ceremony with choirs, fanfares and live music on the Royal Festival Hall stage.

  • Photographs with stunning backdrops – five digital photos per couple Riverside location.

  • A glass of bubbly for each of your guests.

  • Daytime and evening activities including a big dance band and a classic wedding disco.

  • Two bouquets of flowers.

  • Registrar.

  • Video of your ceremony (unedited).

40 guests**

Package 2 – £3450

Couples are welcome to invite extra guests (for an additional cost), and there’s ample time between the ceremony and evening reception to explore the local area or to hold a wedding breakfast nearby.

Handily, the website has an estimated running order of what to expect on the day. We think you'll be impressed by the attention to detail and the gentle flow of proceedings from the pre-ceremony preparations to the evening entertainment.

If you'd like to know more about the Big Wedding Weekend, then you'll find lots of information on the website. You can find out about booking a viewing, too.

We'll be blogging more about the Big Wedding Weekend in the lead up to August, and we'd love to hear what you think about the event - more importantly, too, did you book?
