Service Provider Spotlight: Speeches for You

Got the honour of giving a speech at a wedding?

Congratulations!

Now's the time to start preparing.

Seriously.

Especially if you're nervous about it. Not everyone has the confidence in their own writing ability. Speeches are tough, and it's a big ask penning something that manages to be concise (but not too short) and funny (without feeling forced), heartfelt (without being soppy) and sincere.

We write things every day: Facebook statuses, shopping lists, birthday cards, emails… but a wedding speech? That’s enough to make even a seasoned writer break out in a cold sweat.

So, what can you do if you know what to say but you can’t quite make the words work on paper?

Firstly, don't be afraid to ask for help, and don't be afraid to ask for professional help if you need it.

One company we'd recommend is ‘Speeches for You’

You'll find them, along with other wedding service providers and venues, on the Pink Wedding Days website.

And they have a website, too.

They’re a talented bunch, and they’ll make sure your wedding speech is one to remember (they can even do the speech in rhyme).

In Their Own Words:

"Our approach is to find a narrative that suits the occasion and reflects the personality and sense of humour of the person delivering the speech.
In collaboration with you, we will produce the right balance of humour and sincerity, in a style that is uniquely yours.

Speech written for Best Man at civil partnership;
The speech was a resounding success - thank you Tim and Kev so much for your help. FW

Father of the Bride at Civil partnership,
Kevin, Tim, just a short note to say thank you for your assistance with my wedding speech, I included all your work and added a few extra bits to take it to over 12 minutes. I was amazed at the response from the whole audience, got a fair few laughs and a few ad-lib retorts. Regards PC"
